World Environment Day 2026 – HCA Palm Tree Planting Activity
To mark World Environment Day 2026, the Hulhumalé Community Alliance (HCA) held a palm tree planting activity in Hulhumalé Phase II on 6 June 2026, bringing together schools, community groups, and partner organisations under the theme #NowForClimate.
The Hulhumalé Community Alliance (HCA) celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with a Palm Tree Planting Activity in Hulhumalé Phase II on 6 June 2026, joining the global call to action under the theme #NowForClimate. Held in line with the World Environment Day campaign led by the UN Environment Programme, the initiative brought the community together to green Hulhumalé and raise awareness about climate action and environmental responsibility. Participants included local schools, the Maldivian Red Crescent, Scouts, AgroNAT, WAMCO and other community groups, with the event sponsored by Ooredoo, Taskin, Bonaqua and h78, supported by event partners HDC and the 5 Million Trees Project, and covered by media partner SSTV.
