Hulhumale' Community Alliance's "HCA Community Medical Camp": Health awareness and service to the people

The Hulhumale’ Community Alliance (HCA) has announced the upcoming HCA Community Medical Camp. The announcement of this important event was broadcast on SSTV's "Tea Hour" program today where HCA President Mr. Jihad Abdullah shared the objectives and details of the camp.
CAMP OBJECTIVES
During the program Mr. Jihad highlighted the importance of holding such a medical camp in Hulhumale’. As Hulhumale’ is a rapidly growing population, the association’s main objective in conducting the medical camp is to provide health information and screening opportunities to the people. The camp will provide early detection of diseases and guidance for a healthy lifestyle in one location, he said.
Another purpose of the camp is to address the difficulties in accessing health services and to raise awareness among the people about common diseases. The camp would also provide opportunities for people of all socioeconomic classes to easily access free and quality health information.
PARTICIPATION
Participation in the camp is open to all hospitals, clinics and fitness centers operating in the greater Male’ area. Due to the high demand for participation and interested parties, the deadline for participation has been extended until 10 August 2026
In his speech Mr. Jihad explained that the deadline was extended to give the opportunity to participate to as many institutions as possible. This will allow them to showcase their services to the people and provide services under social responsibility. The inclusion of fitness centers in this year’s event is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of exercise and healthy eating to prevent diseases, he said.
SPONSORSHIP
Sponsorship opportunities are now open for interested businesses and individuals who want to help support this event. HCA President Jihad Abdullah said that such a large event can only be successfully conducted with the help and cooperation of many people. He described assistance from sponsors as a direct investment in health care and awareness of the people.
Small and medium enterprises and large companies can also provide assistance to the camp. HCA hopes this will strengthen the community and create a caring environment.
ROLE OF MEDIA
Jihad highlighted the role of the media in disseminating information about the camp to as many people as possible. On behalf of HCA, he expressed his sincere gratitude to SSTV for their attention to the event and for giving the opportunity to bring this information to the public through the Tea Hour program.
With the help of the media, the news of the camp will surely reach every household in Hulhumale and many people will benefit from it. Dissemination of information is the first step in raising awareness and SSTV is doing a very valuable national work, he said.
CAMP DETAILS
HCA community medical camp is scheduled to be held on 9th and 10th October 2026 at Hulhumale’ Phase 2, Ruhgandu 3. Services provided in the event general practitioner consultations, specialist consultations, blood sugar and blood pressure checks and information on various health issues.
